Look at any “millennial” market research and you'll see the word “authenticity” stand out. Authenticity in regards to transparency of business practices, being genuine in personal relationships, and having honest intentions.
But I don’t think authenticity is a new concept at all. One must wonder if millennials were simply born into a world where authenticity is on the decline — so much so that being authentic is almost a novel idea. Has anyone been following the presidential election? Need I say more?
It’s not just politics though. It’s being slammed with ads no matter where you turn, getting swindled on a business transaction, or feeling cheapened by the attitudes of people and organizations you thought you could trust.
