To all CodeRed customers - we have some huge upgrades coming your way! Today I am pleased to announce major infrastructure upgrades to CodeRed Cloud.
This is an exciting development that has been in the works for over a year. The newer infrastructure is faster, more powerful, and has latest generation hardware and software – all of which to keep your website on the cutting edge. 😎 No Action is Required, No Disruption to Service
This is a seamless transition, and there will be no disruption, downtime, or visible changes to your website.
🔒 SSL Security Upgrades
We are dropping TLS v1.0 and 1.1, and adding TLS v1.3. SSL certificate keys will be upgraded from RSA algorithms to more modern ECDSA algorithms. This improves security and performance of your website.
📈 Database Upgrades: MySQL 8 and Postgres 15
Django, Wagtail, and WordPress websites using MariaDB 10.2 or 10.3 will be upgraded to MySQL 8.0. Django and Wagtail sites using PostgreSQL 11 will be upgraded to PostgreSQL 15.
📈 Newer Generation Hardware
Being based on Microsoft Azure, we are now running new high-powered AMD EPYC 7763v CPUs and faster Premium SSD v2 disk storage.
- Disk I/O has increased by over 20x
- Disk throughput increased by 10x
- CPU cache has doubled.
- CPU clock speed is about 5% faster.
🆓 Beta Plans will be converted to permanent Free Plans
If you signed up for the free public beta back in 2020 or 2021, your websites on the Beta plans will be converted to our new permanent Free plan. If your Beta site is using a custom domain name, it will instead be converted to a Personal plan at no charge, as a “thank you” for being an early adopter. Read more about our plans here.
